About this Event
Ahoy and welcome to the home of Maz, Vanessa, Alexander, and Magnolia! Many moons ago we four met in our humble college town where we discovered the ultimate party inspiration: FLOATOPIA !
Historically this is a massive trashy beach event in Isla Vista, but we invite you to come together to transform Floatopia into a solid celebration of summer, sunshine, music, and booty ~ and the deep waters of our miraculous swimming pond.
Join us for a two day Saturday - Sunday overnight musical extravaganza: Soak in the sun and swim in the cool waters of our pond while epic live bands and DJs serenade you. Grab a tropical drink from a floating tiki bar. Chill out under the mystical weeping willows or take a peaceful meander around our 16 acre lands. Win very silly prizes with a very serious floatie contest, X marks the spot treasure hunt, and experiential Bingo. Dance all night long at our late night headphone dance party. Wake up to coffee and sweet singer songwriters, and maybe release a secret or two in a sunday morning confessional. There may even be a surprise pirate take over. You never know ;)

ETHICS
CONSENT :: Consent is an agreement between participants to engage in sexual activity. Consent should be clearly and freely communicated. Consent is a HELL YES. Consent cannot be given by individuals who are underage, intoxicated or incapacitated by drugs or alcohol, or asleep or unconscious. If someone agrees to an activity under pressure of intimidation or threat, that isn’t considered consent because it was not given freely. Unequal power dynamics, such as engaging in sexual activity with an employee or student, also mean that consent cannot be freely given.
SAFETY :: This is an invite only event and we are a tight knit community. Please let us know if someone is making you or others feel uncomfortable. There is no tolerance for behavior that does not respect the psychological and physical boundaries of others. Folks who are intoxicated beyond their container capacity are welcome to find safe space and be held in containers. Let us know if someone seems to be existing in dimensions beyond that seem unfit for themselves or for others.
SAFETY PEOPLE :: If you have CPR certification, or have the training to help respond to an emergency situation, and are willing to be on call, THANK YOU! Please fill out the Volunteer Form with your contact info, or let us organizers know who you are and what skills you have.
