NIKKI WEI – BIOGRAPHY
--------
Pianist Nikki Wei is known to have a powerful, yet thoughtful approach to making music, while communicating sensitivity and warmth through a diverse range of classical and modern repertoire.
Wei’s origins are culturally diverse. Born in Sydney, she also lived in Singapore, Xi’an, Beijing and Shanghai as a child. She started her musical journey with Zhou Fan at the Middle school affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory before returning to Beijing to study with Wang Chun. Wei continued her development with Wu Yuan at the Middle School affiliated to Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China.
To further expand her education and world views, Wei moved back to Australia to study with Glenn Riddle at the Victoria College of the Arts Secondary School. Wei received her Bachelor of Music degree from Monash University under the tutelage of Kenji Fujimura. She then moved to Toronto, where she accepted a full scholarship to study with renowned artist John Perry and David Louie in the Artist Diploma Program at The Glenn Gould School of The Royal Conservatory of Music. She received her Master of Music in Piano Performance from University of Toronto under the guidance of Enrico Elisi. Wei is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, she studied with Awadagin Pratt, and is now studying with Polina Bespalko.
Nikki Wei has received numerous awards and have performed extensively world-wide. Notable awards include: First place at The Internationaler Klaviersommer Cochem, First place at The Southeastern Music Festival, Winner of Jascha Spivakovsky Piano Competition, and advanced to the final round of Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition. Wei is also featured in a soon-to-be-released documentary detailing the life of Grammy Award winning artist Awadagin Pratt.

Dan Qiao – BIOGRAPHY

Dan Qiao has enjoyed a vibrant career as a violinist performing in concerts worldwide, including in China, Germany, France, Poland, Netherlands, and the USA. After playing violin at age 4, She graduated from Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing for her master degree in violin performance. In 2015, she moved to the USA to pursue a second Master and Doctor degree at the College-Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati.
Ms. Qiao has performed as a solo and chamber musician at such prestigious festivals as fellowship and guest artist, such as the Mostly Modern Music Festival, Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves, Jubilee International Music Course, Brevard Music Festival, Atlantic Music Festival, etc. She played a chamber music recital with legendary violinist Maxim Vengerov at Rencontres Musicales Internationales des Graves in 2019. She also played in Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center (NYC).
Ms. Qiao also performed as a guest concertmaster for CCM Chamber orchestra, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, etc. As an enthusiastic teacher, Dan runs studio with more than 70 students. Her students has got into prestigious music colleges with GA.
Ms. Qiao has received many honors and awards for her work as a solo and chamber musician, including 1st place and top scholarship at the Three Arts Scholarship Competition and multi-time winner of the CCM concerto competition. She is also the honorable Mention Winner of a Doug Davis Endowment Performance, multi-time prize winner of the American prize, First Prize in the France Music Competition, First prize in Music International Grand Prix Adult string, Third prize of the chamber category of Music International Grand Prix, etc.
Ms. Qiao has been invited to judge international competitions such as the American Prize 2022-2023 and Music International Grand Prix 2022-2023.
Ms. Qiao was invited as an assistant violin faculty member at Boston University Tanglewood
