Flesh of Fruit (LP Release) with Sharon Udoh
> Flesh of Fruit is the debut collaboration from Chicago sound artists Hunter Diamond and Allen Moore. With this album they draw on free improvisation, experimental electronics, and reflective nostalgia to create a sound collage equally at home in a free jazz club, art gallery, or underground noise show.
> HUNTER DIAMOND is a creative woodwind and sound artist living and performing in Chicago. A mixture of conceptual, composed, and improvised work keep him fully embedded in the Chicago creative arts community. He is a multifaceted instrumentalist with a long collaborative streak. He regularly creates new work with Black Diamond (co-led with Artie Black), poet-spoken work artist Marvin Tate, story-teller Sam Lewis, movement artist Irene Hsiao, Moldovan vocalist Ana Everling, indie rock artist Hannah Frances, bassist/composer Matt Ulery, saxophonist/composer Sarah Clausen, Chicago rock/funk band Radio Outernational. He also released a six-volume recording project called Metal and Wood which features duets with drummers in Chicago and New Orleans.
> ALLEN MOORE is a Black interdisciplinary visual artist, experimental turntableist, sound artist, educator and youth mentor from Robbins, Illinois, near Chicago’s South Side. His work converses with the signifiers of African-American culture. At the heart of his practice is graphite, which he often uses in his drawings, paintings, and sculptures. Working with this material in his visual work led him to hand casting records with graphite, creating warped mirrors of old soul records. These graphite records serve as the foundation for sound art pieces and live performances with Moore using up to four turntables to create collages of hypnotic textures and rhythms that resonate like hymns of fractured nostalgia.

> Sharon Udoh is a Nigerian-American pianist, composer, arranger, and vocalist based in Chicago. Her work combines vocals that seemingly erupt from the center of the earth with a stage presence that somehow feels both dangerous and kind. Their collaborators have included Marvin Tate, Adam Zanolini, clipping., Tune-Yards, Los Angeles Gay Men's Chorus, Ben Lamar Gay, Angel Bat Dawid, and on this particular night, Cristal Sabbagh.

> Cristal Sabbagh’s performance practice, rooted in improvisation and Butoh, walks a line between the everyday, the divine, the personal, and the political. In embodying in her art transformational memories, while simultaneously celebrating pop culture and the experimental, she challenges power structures and awakens viewers’ senses. Working both in a solo capacity and with collaborators, Sabbagh is equally attuned to individual perspectives and collective structures. She is the creator and curator of Freedom From and Freedom To events that are improvisational performance environments which interrogate movement and sound. In 2021 Cristal was awarded a 3Arts / Make a Wave Artist grant, and in 2023 she was awarded an Individual Artists Program grant from DCASE.
>
> The duo will improvise together, inspired by the songs of Nina Simone.
