27 Wagons Full of Cotton’ by Tennessee Williams. Directed by Brigid Sweeney

A dark, one-act play set on a Southern plantation during the Great Depression. An impoverished gin owner, Jake, burns down a rival mill and then places his childlike, vulnerable wife, Flora, in the path of the rival’s representative, Silva, as he seeks to secure a cotton contract. The ensuing encounter exposes the brutal intersection of economic desperation, sexual power, and the collision of greed, lust, and fragile innocence.
