Flavors of Albany Park Restaurant Crawl 2023

North River Commission is excited to invite you to the event of the summer! Flavors of Albany Park is back with your favorite restaurant crawl, giving you FOUR routes to choose from and bites from all over the world to sample! Let's celebrate the #GlobalRootsLocalHeart at the largest restaurant crawl in Chicago!

Experience the diverse, international cultures, and cuisines by tasting the delicious "Flavors of Albany Park" at our neighborhood restaurant crawl on Wednesday, June 21st, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. Albany Park is "Chicago's Gateway to the World" reflected in the distinct variety of ethnic cuisines from 60+ participating restaurants.

Flavors of Albany Park explores the depth and diversity of global cuisines across FOUR routes. The choice is yours! Attendees receive a "passport" as their ticket and route guide to taste sample-sized portions of culinary delights from local restaurants along:

• Lawrence WEST
• Lawrence EAST
• Kedzie
• Montrose

Take your time walking from restaurant to restaurant. Each restaurant on the route will offer a sample of their food, a sweet treat, or a unique drink to all attendees.

FLAVORS TICKETS

• $40 for adults
• $13 for kids,12 and under
• $25 for students, with valid ID, including university students
• $25 for seniors, 60+

Tickets are an additional $5 on the day of the event. Tickets are limited on each route. Flavors sold out in 2021 and 2022 so get your tickets today!

Flavors of Albany Park takes place outside rain or shine. No refunds.

For your convenience, this year we will have 3 check-in locations depending on your route choice:

• Lawrence WEST & EAST routes at La Fogata, 3433 W Lawrence Ave.
• Montrose Ave Route at Surge Billiards, 3241 W Montrose.
• Kedzie Ave Route at Noon-O-Kabab, 4701 N Kedzie Ave.

Check-in opens at 4:45 pm and each check-in location will have your first "taste" to get you started!

VEGETARIAN? Restaurants choose their food item(s) to serve. We encourage them to provide a veggie option, but it's not required. Generally, the Kedzie route is more veggie-friendly based on past years.

El registro para todas las rutas empezará a las 4:45 pm, en donde recibirá su "pasaporte" y la primera muestra para empezar su tour.

¿Vegetariano/a? Cada restaurante escoge las muestras que ofrecerán. Nosotros les aconsejamos que brinden opciones vegetarianas, pero no están obligados a hacerlo.

End the evening at the free Flavors After-Party, which is also the 1st Lot Jams show, hosted by Surge Coffee Bar + Billiards, 3241 W Montrose. The parking lot next to Surge will have a live band playing from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. The live band after-party is dependent on the weather, so we will take the party inside Surge if it rains.

Chicha Roots is an eclectic band whose live repertoire includes psychedelic cumbia classics, amazonian cumbia, and late seventies/early eighties chicha. Formed in Chicago, the band is comprised of people from Ecuador, Colombia, Bolivia, Venezuela, and the U.S. We can't wait to welcome them back to Albany Park!

On the day of Flavors, you will pick up your route-specific passport at the designated check-in for your route. Check-in begins at 4:45 pm and the last check-in is at 7:00 pm.

Flavors begins at 5:00 pm and ends at 8:00 pm. Wander your route and enjoy local bites until 8:00 pm. When you're ready, go to Surge Coffee Bar & Billiards, 3241 W Montrose, to enjoy the FREE after-party with live music in the parking lot.
