For this month’s edition of Flavors we honor the samples in dance music with a game. The guests of the party can note the original songs they hear sampled, edited, or remixed and send a list to @Snacktimedetroit DMs on instagram. The person with the most correct samples heard will get guest list to all Snack Time events for the rest of the year and a Tie Dye Snack Tee with 2nd place receiving a Tie Dye Tee.
The selections by Charles Trees and Gino might be straight up remixes or they might just include fragments of a word sung by a vocalist somewhere down the line. She never knew that she would be being heard, looped, filtered, and delayed 30 years later in an underground club in downtown Detroit, but if you know that voice… write down the artist and song title and you could become the champion of NOW That’s What I Call a Sample!
