Mr.C is an innovative DJ, producer, songwriter, and frontman of the legendary UK electronic group The Shamen. Beginning as a rapper and MC on London's underground scene in the mid-1980s, he quickly established himself as a pioneering House, Acid House, and Techno DJ. His signature style blends Deep Tech, Acid House, House, Techno, and Electro, while also drawing on his roots in Soul, Funk, Rare Groove, and Disco.
As a member of The Shamen, Mr.C achieved worldwide success with a string of UK Top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People, and the UK No.1 single Ebeneezer Goode. The group's album Boss Drum achieved double-platinum status in the UK, and Mr.C shared an Ivor Novello Awards Songwriters of the Year award in 1992/93.
Beyond recording under numerous aliases and collaborations, Mr.C founded influential labels including Superfreq and Plink Plonk Records. He also co-founded the iconic London nightclub The End, widely regarded as one of the world's most influential club venues.
Today, Mr.C continues to tour internationally, release new music, host Superfreq events worldwide, and deliver unforgettable DJ sets and live performances.
Romy is a rising original artist from right here in Derby.
She blends Indie, Folk and Pop with a sharp, socially conscious edge. Her songwriting is rooted in sharp observation, social awareness, and emotional honesty. Expect powerful vocals, heartfelt lyrics, and songs that hit with real emotional weight.
Romy's been building a presence across Nottingham, Derby, Burton and Lincoln but recently has ventured into The London and Manchester Music scenes.
"While she has already gained traction as a BBC Introducing artist, her live performance offers a much clearer picture of why she is being touted as one to watch.
Stepping onto the stage alone, Romy powered through her set on an acoustic guitar, proving she didn’t need a backing band to command a room." (Rock News UK)
Her live performances reveal the full force of her artistry, she's commanding yet vulnerable, introspective yet unafraid to confront difficult truths. Her songs explore the complexities of human experience, from grief to wider systemic issues. Her voice has drawn frequent comparisons to Dolores O’Riordan of The Cranberries.
Romy’s music connects instantly. Her lyrics are heartfelt, her hooks are strong, and with raw honesty at the core of her work, she continues to establish herself as one of the Midlands’ most compelling young voices and a talent to watch closely in the years ahead.
Known for his high-energy live performances and emotionally charged songwriting, Dan Ottewell blends folk, rock, and indie influences into a sound that’s unmistakably his own. Still in his teens, Dan has already accomplished what many artists only dream of: sold-out headline shows, performances at festivals such as Boomtown, Beautiful Days and even the record for most appearances at Glastonbury Festival at the age of 18. He has supported the likes of Frank Turner, at Nottingham’s legendary Rock City, along with acts such as Terrorvison and Ferocious Dog. Reviewers have described his shows as “a lesson in stage performance and musicianship,” and his sound as “clever, honest, and full of fire.”
Looking forward, Dan is excited to be working in the studio with Gary Powell (The Libertines) on a new (full band) project, set for release in 2026.
“Bursting with creativity” – Dean Jackson (BBC Introducing)
“Dan is the real deal, an authentic new voice, a great songwriter, a touring machine. it's great watching him make his way, and I'm looking forward to the day he overtakes me. One to watch for sure.” – Frank Turner
