About this Event
Glass pendants offer many possibilities for artistic expression and jewelry design. We will use gas torches and special tools to shape molten glass into several different heart and pendant shapes. A wide selection of colored glass will be available to use in making your pendant a unique artistic statement. Instruction will be provided on safety, how to heat and shape the glass, and methods for adding decorative elements. You will also learn how to add a glass loop for hanging on a cord or chain. After the class, your instructor will anneal your creations in a kiln and return them for pickup the next week.
Your instructor, Steve Bay, is a glass artist that creates sculpture and jewelry using flame working and fusing (@stevebayglass). Steve applies his marine biology background to capture the beauty and remarkable design of nature in his art. Class size is limited to six persons to ensure personal attention from the instructor. Participants must be at least 16 years of age. For safety, please wear only cotton clothing, long pants, and closed toe shoes and secure long hair away from the face. All supplies and materials will be provided. Questions? Contact Steve at [email protected] .
