🎸 Biography – José Cortés “Panzekito Jr.”
José Cortés Arana, known artistically as “Panzekito Jr.”, is a Spanish flamenco guitarist and singer from El Puerto de Santa María, Cádiz, Spain, born into a distinguished Gitano family with deep flamenco roots. 🇪🇸🎶 He began playing guitar professionally at just 15 years old, quickly earning recognition for his versatility and expressive style rooted in traditional flamenco.
Panzekito Jr. has performed at major flamenco festivals and shared the stage with legendary figures in flamenco, including icons like Camarón de la Isla, Diego el Cigala, Tomatito, and Rancapino. In 1990 he collaborated on the influential album Ley with guitarist Raymundo Amador and Grammy-winner Rosarito Flores, which led to international touring alongside artists such as Azúcar Moreno, Raphael, José Greco, Lola Flores, and Rocío Jurado.
In addition to his performance career, he is a composer and producer, creating musical theatre works like El Sol de los Gitanos and El Sueño de un Torero, and contributing to film projects such as Isabel Pantoja’s Yo Soy Esa. Today, Panzekito Jr. proudly continues his family’s flamenco legacy, presenting his solo album recorded in Mérida, Yucatán, celebrating the heart and soul of flamenco music.
