Atlantic Flamenco and FabCollab's Women in Song are thrilled to bring this electrifying collaboration to Halifax for one night only. At the heart of the evening is Tamar Ilana & Ventanas, a six-piece ensemble whose sound reaches beyond its flamenco roots — weaving together Balkan rhythms, Mediterranean melodies, Middle Eastern textures, and global folk traditions into a sound entirely their own. Fierce dance, soulful vocals, and virtuosic musicianship come together in a celebration of global collaboration.
Joining them is a powerhouse lineup of guest flamenco artists: Toronto-based flamenco dancer Lia Grainger, artistic director of Flamencolía Dance Company and lead dancer with the touring ensemble Fin de Fiesta Flamenco; Halifax's own Maria Osende, a celebrated dancer and pillar of the local flamenco community; and vocalist Blanche Israël, bringing rich, evocative sound to the stage. Plus, a few special surprise guests will round out the night.
