Flag Raising Ceremony: Child Abuse Prevention Month
Schedule
Thu Apr 09 2026 at 10:15 am to 11:15 am
UTC-04:00Location
Springfield City Hall | Springfield, MA
On Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 10:15 a.m., community members will gather at Springfield City Hall, located at 36 Court Street in Springfield, Massachusetts, to honor the children we have lost and to stand together in support of prevention, awareness, and hope.
April is nationally recognized as Child Abuse Prevention Month, reminding us all of the vital role families and communities play in protecting children and strengthening families. When communities come together to provide support, education, and prevention services, they create safer environments where children can grow and thrive.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural ceremony, this year’s event will continue to educate the community on recognizing the signs of abuse and neglect, while also highlighting the collaborative efforts of organizations committed to the safety and well-being of children.
This event is more than a ceremony. It is a moment to remember, reflect, and recommit ourselves to the work of prevention. It is an opportunity to honor the lives of children lost too soon and to recognize that together, as a community, we all have a role in building a safer and brighter future for every child.
