Who: College student leaders from Catholic campus ministries at FSU, UCF, USF, & beyond, seeking to be restored and fired-up after summer and in preparation for the upcoming new year on mission.

What: 3 days of rich worship, deep relationship, and equipping with missionary zeal

When: August 13-15, 2021

Where: Warren Willis United Methodist Camp, Fruitland Park, FL

Cost: $59.95 for first 50 students that register by May 2nd

$79.95 for all students that register by May 23rd

Who is invited to this retreat? College student leaders from the Catholic campus ministries at FSU, UCF, USF, and beyond are invited to join us for Student Mission Retreat 2021 (SMR).

How do I pay for this retreat? You may pay via card through Eventbrite online. Any special financial requests must go through Maddie Ternyik ([email protected]).

When do I need to register by? The registration deadline is June 30, 2021.

What should I bring to the retreat? 

• Mask

• Casual clothes

• Nice clothes for Mass

• Rec clothes and shoes (if you want to be active during break time)

• Modest swimwear & towel (if you want to go swimming)

• Bible

• Journal

• Towel

• Toiletries

• Waterbottle (stay hydrated! It will be August in Florida. Enough said.)

Do NOT bring alcohol. 

Do we need towels or bedding? Yes - both! The retreat center does not provide towels or bedding, so please bring your own. There will be showers, so you may want to bring a bath towel. There may also be an opportunity to swim during free time on Saturday, so you may want to bring a beach towel as well. 

What kind of clothing is needed? You will need to walk outside to get from your lodging to the main gathering space. The retreat is in August, so please bring appropriate and modest clothes and shoes for this weather. We will have a Vigil Mass during the retreat on Saturday evening, so please bring nice clothes to attend Mass. The rest of the retreat is casual. You also may want to bring clothes to play sports during rec time.

Is transportation included? Please arrange for your own transportation. Camp Warren Willis is about 3 1/2 hours from Tallahassee, 1 hour and 15 minutes from the Orlando area, and 1 1/2 hours from the Tampa area. Carpooling is encouraged!

Can I bring my phone and/or computer? We recommend that you limit your time on your phone or computer during the retreat. To enter in and get the most out of the retreat, we encourage that you focus on prayer and fellowship during this time away before school starts. There is not great cell reception at the retreat center, but you may get some service. 

Will food allergy accommodations be made? We will do our best to accommodate food allergies, but you need to let us know what you need. Please fill out the registration form to let us know of any food allergies or dietary restricitons.

Will there be dinner when we arrive? Plan on getting dinner on your way to the retreat center. We will begin at 6:00 PM. 

When will I be back at my campus on Sunday? We don't have a finalized schedule for the retreat yet, but we will be ending at around 1 PM on Sunday.

COVID-19 UPDATES:

We are closely monitoring the spread of the COVID-19 virus and working on how we will abide by all necessary guidelines during SMR. Our policies during the weekend will be guided by standards set in place by the Center for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, and will be in line with state & local government regulations. Please read all emails with more information on our safty protocol!
