Join us at Canon Burbank for an evening of networking and inspiration! Canon Sr Technical Specialist Matthew Irving, who spent nearly three decades as a feature cinematographer, will walk through the core elements of prep.
Topics Covered Will Include:
- Developing the visual approach with the director
- Building an effective shot list
- Location scouting and evaluation
- Working with the AD on scheduling
- Maximizing limited resources
About the Presenter:
Before joining the Canon USA team, Matthew Irving spent 27 years as a professional cinematographer, shooting 38 feature films across nearly every genre. His credits include the box‑office Top Ten hits WAITRESS (starring Keri Russell and Nathan Fillion) and WAITING (starring Ryan Reynolds, Justin Long, and Anna Faris). Five of his films premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. He has also lectured extensively at universities and film festivals on cinematography and film history.
