Stevens Point is hosting their first Fix It Clinic to provide an opportunity to Fix things instead of landfilling them. Bring your item to get fixed or be a volunteer to help fix items from residents. A Fix-It Clinic is a volunteer led, local event that aims to reduce the amount of things we throw away by fixing the broken item. Many home items, like an old iPod, broken bicycle, wobbly chair, or ripped t-shirt can be easily mended and fixed. But not everyone has the skills, tools, or know-how. This is where the Fix-It Clinic comes in!
By gathering local experts who know how to sew, woodwork, solder electronics, and many other things, there is a chance we may be able to make your broken stuff useable again and show you how to fix it for when issues arise next time! While we cannot guarantee that anything you bring in will be fixed, this provides an opportunity to come together as a community and learn, not just about the wonderful people in your community, but also the know-how to fix things yourself!
What Can I Bring? Basically any household item that needs fixing. Here are some ideas for items you CAN bring:
Old Electronics
Loose Glasses / Frames
Bikes and Bike Tires
Jewelry
Small Appliances like a toaster
Torn Shirts
Socks with Holes
Clothing Missing Buttons
