Nach einer Reihe von Auftritten in Deutschland, Luxemburg und Frankreich im Jahr 2023 erschien 2024 Horizonte, das Debütalbum des aus der Dominikanischen Republik stammenden Pianisten Fito Morales. Mit seinem angeborenen Improvisationstalent und seinem umfassenden Wissen über das Jazz-Vokabular hat sich Fito als prägende Figur in der dominikanischen Musikszene etabliert. Er verbindet auf nahtlose Weise eine Vielzahl lateinamerikanischer Musikstile mit seinen Jazzwurzeln und schafft so eine einzigartige Klangwelt, die durch Einflüsse aus der Romantik und dem Expressionismus bereichert wird.
Sein Können als Pianist und Komponist hat ihm sowohl beim lokalen als auch beim internationalen Publikum Anerkennung eingebracht. Er wurde zu renommierten Festivals wie dem Dominican Republic Jazz Festival und dem Festival Chile Jazz por la Paz eingeladen, wo er als Artist-in-Residence tätig war. Zudem wurde er von Grammy-prämierten Jazzgrößen wie Danilo Pérez, Miguel Zenón und John Patitucci unterrichtet.
Sein Trio besteht aus dem virtuosen Kontrabassisten Pato Banda, der aus der klassischen Musikszene stammt, sowie dem herausragenden chilenischen Schlagzeuger Pablo Sáez.

After a series of performances in Germany, Luxembourg and France in 2023, Horizonte, the debut album by Dominican-born pianist Fito Morales, was released in 2024. With his innate talent for improvisation and extensive knowledge of the jazz vocabulary, Fito has established himself as a defining figure in the Dominican music scene. He seamlessly blends a variety of Latin American musical styles with his jazz roots, creating a unique soundscape enriched by influences from Romanticism and Expressionism.
His skills as a pianist and composer have earned him recognition from both local and international audiences. He has been invited to renowned festivals such as the Dominican Republic Jazz Festival and the Chile Jazz por la Paz Festival, where he was artist-in-residence. He has also been taught by Grammy award-winning jazz greats such as Danilo Pérez, Miguel Zenón and John Patitucci.
His trio consists of the virtuoso double bass player Pato Banda, who comes from the classical music scene, and the outstanding Chilean drummer Pablo Sáez.
