Discover the unique connection between football and the shipyards in an afternoon of stories & memories at the historic Fairfield Boardroom.
About this Event

Learn how football was woven into daily life at the yards, from inter-department matches and shipyard football leagues to the friendships and rivalries that flourished on & off the pitch.

Joining us are Govan Born football broadcaster Chick Young and Richard McBrearty of the Scottish Football Museum, who will share fascinating insights into Glasgow's rich football heritage.

Hosting the afternoon is Angus Dixon, Head of Creative Industries at GCU, who will lead a lively Q&A with our guests and the audience, inviting everyone to share their own football stories and favourite moments. Whether you have a tale to tell or simply want to enjoy the banter - there's something for every football fan.

Also on display will be a specially curated exhibition by the Govan Reminisence Society, featuring photos, memorabilia and memories celebrating Govan's footballing and shipbuildng heritage!

Accessibility: The Venue is fully accesable throughout, with wheelchair access and lift access availabe to the rear from the car park.
