About this Event
The FIT23 Wellness Program is designed to help our resident and business owners receive the support and information needed to grow and be successful within the community we serve within these focus areas:
Emotional — Coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships
Environmental — Good health by occupying pleasant, stimulating environments that support the well-being
Financial — Satisfaction with current and future financial situations
Intellectual — Recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills
Occupational — Personal satisfaction and enrichment from one’s work
Physical — Recognizing the need for physical activity, healthy foods, and sleep
Social — Developing a sense of connection, belonging, and a well-developed support system
Spiritual — Expanding a sense of purpose and meaning in life
There will be a kick-off event on Saturday, August 20th at Pittsburgh Yards from 8am to 1pm. The Fit23 Wellness Program is 23 weeks on Saturday from August 27, 2022, to January 28, 2023, which will feature wellness professionals and vendors.
Yoga Infinitum -
Self-ies (Self-Ease) is a creatively sequenced yoga class, infused with thoughtful stretches, engaging yoga poses and delicious deep breaths aimed to bring ease to the mind and body. Instructor Nasirah Denisse of Yoga Infinitum invites you to join her "no-judgement" classes that are great for beginners and experienced yogis, alike. BYOM (Bring your own mat) and water.

Healing Hands
Session Description: Reiki for Love - Our bodies are powered by love and light. When the light dims it becomes difficult to function. Reiki self-healing techniques can help ignite the light in you. This session will provide tools to get you started.

Session Description: A holistic wellness practice committed to providing holistic therapy that encourages Black Women to heal their minds, bodies, and souls stemming from inner childhood traumas that have caused anxiety, depression and stress.
Angel Nurse Co
Nurse Co specializes in identifying medical professionals to support recreational and sporting events. CPR classes will be taught to provide lay rescuers the fundamental skills and confidence to perform CPR on adults, children, or infants.

This is your time to shine! Pole Dance America is currently casting talent for our national pole dancing competition on December 3, 2022 from 3PM to 9PM! All ethnicities and nationalities are welcome. Must be 18 years or older to enter. We can’t wait to see your amazing skills and talent showcased on stage!
Would you like to be on the judges panel for this event? Selected judges must have a background in pole dance, gymnastics, swimming, aerial arts, circus, or dance.

Tree House Project & No Boundaries Coalition
Shaleece Williams has over 10 years experience in the non-profit field of Youth Program Development and Youth Advocacy. Currently serving two roles in the Baltimore community as Executive Director of Tree House Project, Inc. and Director of Youth Programming with No Boundaries Coalition. Most of her work focuses on training young people to advocate and organize around issues important to Baltimore youth including Police Accountability, Mental Health in Black/Brown Communities, Environmental, & Youth Opportunity.
She led the organizing and production of a "Youth Voice Training Video" being utilized to train Baltimore City Police Officers in youth interactions as a result of the Consent Decree. Shaleece provides business consultation and assisting services to individuals and groups interested in developing youth programs, starting non-profits, grant writing, and fundraising.

Mechel Benitez-Miller
A Contemporary Choreographer and respected instructor with a choreographic output of over 55 pieces in the last 10 years. Currently, she is choreographing original works for stage performances and videos for several up and coming R & B and Christian artists. She also served as “Dance Team Director and “Lead” Dance Instructor of Liturgical, Ballet, Jazz, Hip-hop and Tap at Chymes School of Dance and Tiffany School of Dance. Additionally, she completed a tour with the United States Air Force teaching Hip-hop, Country Line Dance, Salsa and Ballroom to children on 15 different bases across the United States. Her dance career spans over 28 years as a performer and 10 years as an instructor and choreographer. A highly disciplined Classical and Contemporary Jazz/Modern dance based Teacher with an excellent history of training in New York City under recognized leaders in the areas of Classical Ballet, Modern, African and Jazz. She has an innate ability to develop the total dancer by teaching students to both feel and understand the physiology of the body, as so to become its master mentally, physically and dramatically. Her tough, yet caring disposition nurtures each student to allow for their personal growth- not only in dance, but also in teamwork, poise, dedication and pride in one’s work.
Areas of special emphasis and expertise include:
Creative Movement, Ballet/Tap, Liturgical Dance Choreography, Hip-hop Chorography,
Jazz Choreography, Adaptation of Literary Themes to Dance, Teaching Choreographic Development, Combines Theory, Technique and Theatrics, Music
