Join a Ranger for a leisurely morning of fishing on the Pedernales River! No fishing license is needed when fishing from the banks of any state park!
We will have a limited number of cane poles and casting poles available for use and will be providing the bait! Feel free to bring your own pole if you prefer!
Children of all ages are welcome, but they must be accompanied and supervised, especially when fishing from the edge of the riverbank! Please leave pets at home for this program.
Check in first at Park Headquarters to obtain your map and driving permit! Participants should park in the parking lot across the road from the trailhead leading to the Danz Cabins, just east of the Group Picnic Area (marked with a yellow star on the map below) - please do not park in the Group Dining Hall parking lot. Walk down to the riverbank to meet the Ranger!
This program, and park entrance, are free of charge but donations are welcomed at our Visitor Center!
