Fish War was produced by North Forty Productions and Northwest Treaty Tribes Media, with support from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Elwha Klallam Tribe, Lummi Nation, Nisqually Indian Tribe, Squaxin Island Tribe, S'Klallam Nation, Port Madison Enterprises, Quinault Indian Nation, Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe, Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, Tulalip Tribes, The Suquamish Tribe, and Washington Filmworks.
North Forty Productions is an independent production company that has worked with the treaty tribes in western Washington for several years to create short films with the goal of educating people about treaty rights and the ongoing work being done by tribal natural resources managers. The relationship has produced an archive of hundreds of hours of interviews and footage. The feature-length documentary FISH WAR is the Culmination of that work.
