About this Event
We know from Timothy Mitchell that the idea of ‘growth’ functions as a key political technology in modern governance. In this talk I ask what we might learn from viewing growth through the lens of ideas that have held sway among pomologists and fruit growers, from druggists and herb diggers to breeders working on genetically engineered super apples. If growth is modelled on nature, what happens when plants stop growing?
