About this Event
Welcome to the First Year of ISMA - Where are we now?
Date:17th September 2024, 4-6pm
Location: Grand Hall, Ipswich Corn Exchange
In Autumn 2023 the Ipswich Social Mobility Alliance published a 25 year strategy to improve the life chances and outcomes of children in Ipswich.
Responding to the call of the national #iwill movement to empower young people to shape their town, the Alliance is a group of organisations committed to moving to meet the needs and aspirations of young people.
Last year we published our first one year action plan, with key ISMA organisations offering to lead by example with some challenging pledges.
This event is our opportunity to reflect with our young people:
- what have we achieved in this first year?
- What feels different for young people in Ipswich?
- What should we do next? What are young people's priorities for their town?
- How do we write our Year 2 action plan?
As always, ISMA events are led through the input of young people. Keynote speakers include Claire Muhlawako Madzura, an #iwill ambassor and activist, passionate about young people's power to transform places. Ipswich #iwill ambassadors Abi and Abisayo Abidoye will guide our conversations through the change that young people feel in their town, and ISMA colleagues and the young people who experieince their organisations will reflect on the progress impact of their first year pledges and commitments.
If you work in and organisation that works with or for young people and their interests in Ipswich, join us for an action focused meeting of allies in building the best future for Ipswich.
