About this Event

A key part of the Alliance for Interracial Dignity's mission is cultivating a more inclusive community, including fighting the disappearance of our historically Black community, advocating for affordable housing/living, and encouraging more diversity in the business community.

Recent developments offer us more opportunity to include international neighbors in our pursuit of inclusive community. For example, local residents have helped support two Afghan families who moved here last year and are for now making their home on Eden Seminary campus. Meanwhile, Webster University has been steadily growing its international student body.

Webster University is now poised for more dramatic growth. This spring and next fall, the University anticipates the arrival of 1,000 international graduate students, primarily from India and Bangladesh.

On April 20 at 5:00 pm, community members and Webster U students from Multicultural Center and International Student Affairs are invited to gather for dinner and discussion. We will learn about the University's plans for growth and hear about the experiences of current international students. We will brainstorm ways to build ties between students and the local business community, ideas for creating local housing options, and possibilities for cross-cultural exchange.

Dinner will be catered by Himalayan Hut and is free to university students who sign up for tickets in advance on eventbrite. This event is on Eden Seminary campus -- see 'F' on the map below. Hope to see you there!
