A beginner-friendly sewing program for kids ages 4-9. Young participants will explore both hand sewing and introductory machine sewing!Registration is required for this class, due to availability of materials. No one will ever be turned away from a program, yet registration is important for material availability.
This class will run six weeks; our plan is teaching hand-sewing skills to children ages 4 to 9 with the end goal of making a simple hand-sewn nine square. The plan gradually builds motor skills, basic sewing techniques, and confidence through age-appropriate activities.
Age Range: 4–9 years
Project Goal: Complete a small nine square quilt.
Duration: 6 weeks, 1 session per week (45–60 minutes each)
Skills Covered: Threading a needle, running stitch, backstitch, tying knots, fabric handling, safety

If you bring younger kids to the program, do to not having childcare, we will be happy to give them stitch boards to work on.
