This workshop is for first responders and will be a safe contained space for connection and reflection with our beautiful herd of horses.It is co facilitated by Kathy Moffatt Advanced FEEL® Facilitator and Owner of Rideau Breeze Stables & Wellness Centre and Joan Marie Gjos Advanced FEEL® Facilitator from Echo Bay, Ontario. Joan Marie brings very relevant experience to this work as she is a recently retired Land/Air paramedic also having worked in communications. She also holds a BSc in Psychology. She understands first hand the associated challenges and the resultant trauma of being a first responder.
Why partner with horses?
Horses don’t judge and they don’t lie. They hold space for you as they help you connect and reflect. Trauma and your un resolved emotions are held in the body. Sometimes you are not sure what that “feeling” is. It is hard to talk about it or explain it. There is no talking or explanations needed. Horses speak but they don’t talk. They “feel” you, help you feel and guide your awareness and help you release.
The day will be a combination of group and one on one activities with the horses. Activities are done on the ground and do not involve riding. We will also focus on some calming energy work and guided meditations to help you get attune with your body, activities that can be taken away.
Workshop are a small group of no more than 6 people. This is to keep it intimate, where you feel safe to be as vulnerable as you choose. Your facilitators and the horses will hold the space for you.
All materials, snacks, and a catered lunch is provided. GF, vegan, dairy free, nut free options will all be available.
