About this Event
Initiatives of Change Australia in partnership with the Sustainable Architecture Forum at the Australian Institute of Architects invite you to a conversation on First Nations Wisdom for Regenerative Futures with indigenous elders from Australia and Canada. Together we will explore deep listening practices that nurture First Peoples' relationship to place and the role of urban learning landscapes that are sacred, inclusive, and regenerative.
Lewis Cardinal, a Woodland Cree First Nations leader from Alberta, Canada is convenor of the Global Indigenous Dialogue. He is visiting with a team of indigenous and non-indigenous Canadians to engage with Australians in our joint quest for justice, recognition and a new understanding of reconciliation. He will draw on the spiritual strength of his community’s elders and their practical experience of the long journey towards justice and healing.
Uncle Shane Charles, a Yorta Yorta, Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung man is Cultural Integrity Lead at IofCA and co-chair Reconciliation Victoria.
