Welcome to our first Athens Sufi Gathering meeting! We will pray Asr together, do dhikr (meditative chanting prayer) and have spiritual discussion with tea and snacks. See our sample schedule here: 4:30-4:45pm: Set up and get settled in
Mid-Afternoon Formal Prayer (Asr) 4:45pm-5:00pm (English translation: https://tinyurl.com/3tur3pmd
5:00 - 5:20pm: 15-20 minute Dhikr (meditative chanting) in group with a drum (Translation of common dhikrs: https://tinyurl.com/4u9tj69n and 99 names of God: https://tinyurl.com/2ssvjepk)
5:20-5:30pm: Tea and healthy snacks served
5:30-5:40pm: 5-10 minute Spiritual Reading
5:40:-6:10pm: 20-30 minute Spiritual Discussion
6:10-6:30pm: Clean up
Our meetings are open to all interested in spiritual growth through engaging with Sufi Muslim thought and practices. You do not need to identify as a Sufi Muslim to attend. All interested in spiritual growth through engagement with Sufi Muslim thought and practice are welcome.
