About This Series
Join us for a fun, relaxed four-week crochet series designed especially for beginners! Each class builds on the last, so by the end you'll have real skills — and a beautiful lap blanket you made yourself to take home.
Whether you've never picked up a hook before or you tried once and got tangled up, this series will have you stitching with confidence in no time.
The registration cost covers all 4 sessions and materials!
What's Included in Your Enrollment
- 4 skeins of yarn
- Crochet hook (yours to keep!)
- All instruction and pattern materials
- A finished lap blanket to take home
There are two session series dates to choose from:
1) Four Saturdays: 6/20, 6/27, 7/11, 7/18 at 6:30pm - 7:30pm ET
2) Four Tuesdays: 6/16, 6/23, 7/7, 7/14 at 6:30pm - 7:30pm ET

Four-Week Schedule
Week 1: Getting Started
Setting up for success — tools, tension, and your first stitches.
You'll learn:
- Anatomy of a crochet hook
- Types of yarn and how to choose
- Slip knot and foundation chain
- Single crochet (sc) stitch
- Counting your stitches
- How to hold your hook and yarn
Project: Begin your lap blanket foundation chain and work your first few rows.
Week 2: Building Your Stitch Library
More stitches, more texture — and reading patterns like a pro.
You'll learn:
- Half double crochet (hdc)
- Double crochet (dc)
- How to read a crochet pattern
- Understanding abbreviations
- Turning your work
- Fixing common mistakes
Project: Continue your lap blanket using hdc and dc rows to add texture and height.
Week 3: Shape & Technique
Magic circles, joining, and giving your blanket personality.
You'll learn:
- How to make a magic circle
- Crocheting in the round
- Slip stitch joins
- Changing yarn colors cleanly
- Weaving in ends
- Blocking basics
Project: Add a color stripe or design panel to your blanket.
Week 4: Finishing Strong
Complete your blanket and leave with skills to keep creating.
You'll learn:
- Finishing and binding off
- Edging your blanket with a single crochet border
- Blocking and finishing touches
- Reading patterns independently
- Next project ideas and resources
- Q&A and individual guidance
Project: Complete your lap blanket — edge it, weave in all ends, and take it home!
