Are you ready to PLAY? Join Mike Deaton for a read aloud followed by interactive hands-on music making. All ages are welcome. Accessible instruments are provided and no special skills are needed. Join the fun at 5:15 and again at 6:00.Mike Deaton is a drummer, gong player, music facilitator, and a Global Trainer for Village Music Circles. He has been teaching all ages and empowering humans through sound, art, and movement for 25 years. Mike is a former program coordinator of the Gus Bus early literacy program with a deep love for creative read alouds. He and his wife are currently reopening a creative arts space in Dayton, VA called The Growing Space that will feature summer camps, music programs for all ages, and wellness-based events.

Dogs Deserve Better has rescued and relocated hundreds of dogs from unsafe and inhumane conditions, and their adoption and foster programs unite animals with their forever homes. Dogs Based in Central Virginia, Dogs Deserve Better provides assistance in under-resourced communities by offering spay and neuter services, fencing, insulated dog houses, vet care, dog food, and supplies. Come by after 1pm to meet friendly adoptable dogs and learn more about their programs! 10% of the day's sales will be donated to support their important work.
