About this Event
Gritzmaker, CEO of the Greater Fort Wayne YMCA, is a Fort Wayne native and a graduate of North Side High School and Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. He earned a Bachelor of Science in public affairs and a Master of Arts in public management from the latter. He started his career at Lutheran Hospital in 2007 in human resources and left as risk manager in 2013 to join a local nonprofit, the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House (MACHH). There, he provided overnight accommodations to families around the region with critically ill or injured children. During his time, he facilitated a merger with the Indiana Burn Council, opening a second location at St. Joseph Hospital and broke ground on a third location in 2018 at Dupont Hospital.
He was named CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Fort Wayne in February 2019. Since that time, he has helped the Habitat affiliate eliminate $2.4 million in debt and revamp their building efforts, which included low-income census tract residential development that resulted in a 500% increase in annual housing production. He has formed collaborative partnerships with Bridge of Grace Compassionate Ministries, Vincent Village, city of Fort Wayne, Ten Point Coalition, FWCS Career Academy Construction Trades Center and Pathfinder Services.
“We’re grateful for Andrew’s leadership and the lasting impact he’s made within Habitat GFW and our community. We know he will accomplish amazing things at the YMCA of GFW,” Adrienne Wampole, board chair at Habitat GFW, said. “I am confident in the Habitat team and in Jeremy — he will do an excellent job leading us through this transition and beyond.”
Gritzmaker, who was part of Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly’s Forty Under 40 Class of 2022, is married to his wife of eight years, Jennifer Jordan. They share a passion for endurance sports, great food, time spent with family on Lake Hamilton and playing with their rescued cat named Moe.
