First Friday Clean Up with SC7, Blue Ridge Electric, and Pickens County

Pickens County Employees and Council and Blue Ridge Electric Co-op Employees and Leadership will participate in the First Fridays of South Carolina 7 (SC7) — a new monthly initiative celebrating and extending the mission of the annual SC7 Expedition.

SC7 is a month-long expedition each July that highlights South Carolina’s seven geographic wonders while promoting outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, conservation, and resiliency. Building on its success and growing public engagement, SC7 is expanding impact through a series of First Friday events held on the first Friday of each month. Each event will bring together community members, local leaders, and partner organizations to participate in hands-on conservation projects across our state.

The inaugural First Friday event will be held in partnership with Pickens County and Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op on Friday, October 3, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. We will be conducting a litter sweep around the campus of Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op. All litter pickup supplies—including grabbers, gloves, and bags—will be provided, and Blue Ridge Electric Co-Op will generously provide a boxed lunch for participants.

Date: October 3, 2025

Location: 734 W Main Street, Pickens, SC

Goal: Assist in litter pick up alongside Blue Ridge Electric Co-op and Pickens County employees as well as Pickens County Council in order to beautify Pickens County and prevent future litter.
