First Friday: Black Buttafly!January's event features Philly-based singer-songwriter, artist, and producer Kayla Childs, also known as @blackbuttafly. With roots in gospel, jazz, and soul, Childs has played, studied, and recorded with artists and producers such as Lauryn Hill, Pete Rock, Lenny White, KeiyaA, RES, and Hannibal Buress. A member of Omar’s Hat, UPENDO, and Nu School Collective, Childs is currently working on her debut EP.
