Join us for First Friday Art Walk, September 4th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Live music begins at 6:00 pm, so come by early to grab a drink and spend time with Noah's work.
"What you’re seeing in my work is an experiment. This series and this medium have been my attempt to explore novel representations of endangered species, their ecologies, and the simultaneous fragility and robustness that our natural world affords.
No individual comes into being without a species to home it, and no species exists without individuals to embody it. The part and the whole depend on each other, and to lose sight of either misses something vital. The single, continuous thread used to create each of these pieces serves as a representation of this relationship: thousands of individuals who, in their overlap, bring a species to life.
You can choose to step closer, close enough to intimately inspect each line of the thread. Step close enough and the point of the whole thing starts to fade away. Or you can step back, far enough to lose sight of any individual thread, far enough to not even recognize that this face is simply a bunch of straight lines. Up close or at a distance – which place is worth standing?"
