First Day 5k

Start your 2025 off on the right foot! Join us for a FREE, low-pressure run or walk along the scenic Downtown Canal and Indianapolis Cultural Trail as we celebrate a healthy beginning to the New Year. We’ll meet at the Orange Bridge, just south of the Colts Canal Playspace, at noon for a group photo before heading off for a fun, non-competitive run or walk.

Participants will enjoy water, warm beverages, and healthy snacks at the finish. All ages and paces are welcome with shorter route options available. This free event is family and dog-friendly. Registration is encouraged. Bring a friend or meet a new one, including our friends at We Walk Indy and learn more about the social walks they'll host on the Cultural Trail and around the city in 2025.

Getting to First Day 5k

Street parking is availble nearby on Senate, Capitol, and North Streets, and is FREE since it's a holiday. Bike parking is available along the Cultural Trail just east of the Orange Bridge. The Red and Purple Lines convinently stop at Capitol and 9th St, just a few blocks away.
