First Coffee, PhotoWalk & Talk
About this Event
Most photography events teach you how to react to the world. This one teaches you how to arrive early.
Every day, the industry pushes the same narrative: buy better gear, master more settings, and spray-and-pray thousands of shots hoping one turns out.
We don’t buy it. Awareness comes before settings period.
Whether you carry a film camera, a high-end mirrorless setup, or the smartphone in your pocket, what actually dictates a powerful image is your ability to slow down, see clearly, and interpret the environment around you with intention.
Join photographer and educator Ocie Clelland for an unhurried, 90-minute observation walk designed to disrupt passive habits, spark real conversation, and build a community of photographers who care deeply about their craft.

Info: The Flow
Phase 1: Ground (10:00 AM @ Fulton St Starbucks)
We grab coffee, connect, and set the mental lens for the morning. A single observation prompt to ground your vision before anyone touches a shutter button. Phase 2: Challenge (10:30 AM on foot)
We take a slow, unhurried 2-block walk toward The Oculus. You’ll be guided through 3 specific observation exercises focused on hunting for structural light shapes, abstract geometry, and human scale within massive spaces.
Phase 3: Translate (11:15 AM regroup)
We circle up at the end, review one image from each participant's screen, and talk through what you saw and felt before you pressed the button.
