Get ready to learn lifesaving skills over three fun and interactive days of first aid training. 3 Days - 10th, 15th & 18th December
About this Event

Become a fully qualified workplace First Aider with this comprehensive three-day course. Combining in-depth theory with extensive hands-on practical training, this HSE-compliant programme covers a broad range of injuries and illnesses you may encounter at work — giving you the confidence and skills to respond effectively when it matters most.

This is the most thorough workplace first aid qualification available and is recommended for larger organisations or those operating in medium to high-risk environments such as leisure facilities, warehouses, construction, and manufacturing.

The course runs over three days - 10th, 15th & 18th December

What You'll Learn

Core emergency skills:

  • The role and responsibilities of a workplace First Aider, including infection control, use of available equipment, and recording incidents and accidents
  • How to manage an incident scene safely and effectively
  • Basic Life Support (CPR) and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

Injury management:

  • Controlling bleeding and treating wounds
  • Recognising and managing fractures and soft tissue injuries
  • Treating burns and scalds
  • Dealing with eye injuries
  • Providing appropriate first aid for minor injuries including cuts, grazes, bruises, and splinters

Illness recognition:

  • Recognising and responding to heart attacks, stroke, and chest pain
  • Managing shock and anaphylaxis
  • Responding to seizures, diabetes-related emergencies, and asthma attacks
  • Head and spinal injuries

Workplace knowledge:

  • First aid regulations and legal responsibilities
  • Selecting and maintaining first aid kits
  • Understanding when and how to call the emergency services

Who Is This Course For?

This course is ideal for anyone who needs to act as a designated First Aider in a workplace where the risk assessment calls for a full First Aid at Work qualification. It's particularly suited to larger workplaces, those with higher-risk activities, or environments open to the public. It is suitable for both new first aiders and those looking to upgrade from an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) certificate.

Pre-requisites

None — no previous first aid experience or qualifications are required. Learners must be aged 16 or over to take on the role of workplace First Aider upon certification.

Course Details
  • Duration: 3 days — a minimum of 18 contact hours of learning (not including breaks)
  • Format: Classroom-based theory and practical training
  • Assessment: Continuous assessment by a qualified trainer throughout the course, including practical demonstrations and a written assessment
  • Certification: Ofqual-regulated Level 3 Award, valid for 3 years
  • Requalification: A 2-day requalification course is available for those renewing before their certificate expires
  • Refresher training: The HSE strongly recommends annual refresher training to keep your skills sharp between certifications, as studies show first aid skills can start to fade after just six months

Benefits

  • Build real confidence to handle both emergency and non-emergency situations
  • Develop practical, life-saving skills that are just as valuable at home and in everyday life as they are at work
