About this Event

Get ready to create your own “fireworks” right inside a jar — no sparklers or flames needed! This exciting STEAM workshop brings science and creativity together in a visually stunning experiment that’s perfect for summer or holiday learning.

Students will:

✨ Explore the science of density, solubility, and color mixing by making a fireworks effect with everyday materials.

✨ Observe how oil and water interact and why they don’t mix.

✨ Create colorful swirls that mimic fireworks as food coloring falls through the oil and disperses in the water.

✨ Learn to make predictions and ask scientific questions about the experiment’s results.

What we’ll do:

🔹 Fill a clear jar with water and add a layer of vegetable oil.

🔹 Mix food coloring into the oil so it forms droplets that won’t dissolve yet.

🔹 Pour the mixture into the water and watch as the colored droplets fall and burst like tiny fireworks.

Join us for this vibrant, hands-on STEAM experience — perfect for curious minds and budding scientists! 🎆
