This free event opens at 6 p.m. on the historic Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm grounds at 1200 E. Kansas City Road in Olathe.
The Olathe Civic Band begins playing at 7:30 p.m., followed by the Forget-Me-Nots, patriotic singing, a reading of the Declaration of Independence, cannon fire, and then the fireworks will begin.
The evening will conclude with an 1860s fireworks show. The fireworks show is a ground-based display, so you must be on the Mahaffie property to see the show.
Stagecoach rides $3/person
Pie, ice cream, root beer sales in the back yard of the farmhouse.
Bring your picnics, lawn chairs, yard blankets. Please leave pets at home.
