  • Select how many tickets you would like to purchase (1 ticket for 1 truckload of firewood).

  • Click "Checkout", fill out the required fields and click "Pay Now".

  • You will receive your tickets and waiver by email, you are not required bring a printed copy to the sale.

  • Arrive at the upper parking lot of the Hall Ranch Bitterbrush Trailhead 10 minutes before 8:15 a.m.

    • Be sure to sign the prior to the sale, or bring a printed signed copy with you
  • Bring ALL required personal protective equipment if you plan to use a chainsaw (details below).

  • Staff will lead the group onto the property where you will load and haul away your firewood.

The Fine Print
General
  • Must arrive before 8:15 a.m.

  • Staff will escort ticket holders promptly at 8:15 a.m.

  • Late arrivals cannot be accommodated and tickets will be forfeited.

  • Tickets may be purchased for personal use only.

  • Each person must submit a signed Liability Waiver for each individual (including children).

  • Individuals may purchase a maximum of 10 tickets annually.

  • All sales are final; refunds will not be given.

  • Firewood must be picked up and removed on the specified ticket date and time.

  • Dogs and other pets are not allowed.


Transportation
  • Each ticket is good for 1 truck, and as many helpers as needed, as long as they are transported in the allotted vehicle and each person signs a Liability Waiver.

  • Only 1 trip per vehicle is allowed. Make sure your vehicle can haul the amount of firewood you decide to load.

  • Due to adverse road conditions, trailers are not allowed.

  • 4WD, off-road suitable vehicles are required.

  • All vehicles must be licensed and insured.

  • Drivers must obey all rules, regulations and directions given by staff.

  • Loads must be securely and safely secured per applicable CDOT regulations.


Firewood
  • Wood available is large and heavy.

  • Wood species available is ponderosa pine.

  • Firewood may be green or dry.

  • No guarantee of moisture content or wood quality is expressed or implied.


On-Site Cutting
  • Firewood will already be pre-cut into lengths no longer than 8’ long, stacked in decks along roadside.

  • Bucking of oversized material to facilitate/enable manual handling is allowed.

  • Ticket holders are allowed to use chainsaws (2 chainsaws max per ticket holder).

  • Chainsaw operators must wear appropriate personal safety equipment including eye and ear protection, gloves, chaps, and boots. Without ALL of these pieces of safety equipment you will not be allowed to cut.

  • Processing of material into stove-length pieces on site is not allowed.


What is a Cord of Wood?
  • A full cord is defined as 128 cubic feet stacked.

  • A standard 8-foot pickup bed will hold approximately ½ cord stacked level to the top of the bed, but with rails, some can fit a whole cord.

  • Just because your truck can fit a whole cord does not mean it can safely transport a whole cord, please know what your vehicle can handle!


Adverse Weather and Prescribed Fire
  • If staff determines that weather, prescribed fire, or other adverse conditions affect the ability to access the site, an alternate date will be scheduled

  • Ticket holders will be alerted by email if a sale is postponed

  • Check the status on the information line at 303-678-6347.


Storing Firewood
  • Do not stack firewood near living trees on your property. Doing so could lead to insect and disease issues.

  • Do not stack firewood near or under decks, structures, or propane tanks to reduce fire hazards.
