This talk is offered FREE in conjunction with Rare Books LA, featuring leading specialists in antiquarian books, ephemera, and maps. Supported by Metro, this exciting event takes place October 5 and 6, 2024, in the historic Ticket Concourse at Union Station, the backdrop for numerous classic films and television shows as well as the 2021 Academy Awards.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Stacy Shirk has a Master's degree in Literature from NYU, where she concentrated on Folklore in Popular Culture. She worked in various areas of the publishing industry before transitioning to entertainment. After working at CAA and HBO, she established her company The Bookwoman and became a book consultant for television and film. She finds books for HBO and Max to adapt for the screen, and has worked on various book adaptations through the development process. Stacy was the winner of the 2022 California Young Book Collector's Prize and a 2020 Honey & Wax Book Collecting Prize honorable mention. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Book Club of California, is an avid consumer of trivia and popular culture, and a devoted dog mom to her bernedoodle Brontë.
