Fireside Chat with Professor Christine Ortiz, MIT

Join us for a wide ranging discussion with Professor Christine Ortiz, Morris Cohen Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and Director of the MIT Technology and Policy Program (MIT TPP) at MIT and Founder of Station1, a pioneering nonprofit higher education institution focused on shaping trajectories and cascading societal and planetary impacts through “directional science and technology.”

Christine will be in conversation with Professor Suzi Jarvis, founding director of UCD Innovation Academy.

Christine and Suzi will discuss why experiential, challenge based learning is crucial as we work together to tackle our planet's most wicked problems; the value of novel learning environments designed to support transformative education; broadening participation pathways for students from underrepresented background, and much more. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A.
