Join us for a fairy-tale adventure with a twist! Firefly Bookstore’s Summer Reading/Movie Festival wraps up with Ella Enchanted (2004), starring Anne Hathaway and based on the award-winning book by Gail Carson Levine. In this charming and clever reimagining of classic fairy tales, Ella is under a magical “gift” of obedience—and must find her own way to break the spell. Full of humor, romance, and whimsical adventure, this story is perfect for all ages.
This program is part of our ongoing effort to support the Kutztown Strand Theater’s renovation, led by the Kutztown Community Partnership. The vision is to transform the Strand into a vibrant community space for film, live performance, and cultural events. Across the country, restored historic theaters have been shown to strengthen and grow downtowns, bringing people together and boosting local businesses. We’re proud to stand with KCP in this multi-year process of renovation and expansion, and we look forward to seeing the Strand become an even more vital part of our community.
We’ll be showing the film at the Kutztown Strand Theater on Friday, August 22nd at 6:00 PM. Bring the family, enjoy a magical evening, and help us celebrate the finale of this summer’s series of beloved books brought to life on the big screen!
