Firefly Night trek to Prabalmachi | Mumbai Mountain Hikers.Firefly, every year before monsoon we celebrate firefly festival. End of May and start of June fire fly are started to visible. There some location in Maharshtra Firefly are spotted and huge amount of people use to go for Firefly. Fire Fly belong to the Lampyridae family of insects. They have soft body. The female fly attract to Male fly for matting that is why they produce light.
Pabalmachi is situated between Matheran and Panvel in Raigad distric of Mahrashtra. Prabalmachi is base village of Klavantina and Prabalgad. The Altitude of Prabalgad is around 2300 ft from sea level. Earlier Prabalgad known as MURANJAN. This fort capture by Maratha Empire in 1657 and MURANJAN renamed as Prabalgad. It is sister fort is Irasalgad. Right next to Prabalgad, North side V shape Klavantin Fort is there. Prabalgad Fort of build by Bahamani Sultan. They were use it as watch tower and keep eye at Konkan region.
