Fire Workshop

Join Stefan Batorijs for a 1 day Fire Workshop from 10-4pm at The Glade, Dartington, Devon.

This one-day course will explore our relationship with fire – Origins, myths and legends of fire alongside practical considerations like timber selection, fire lighting methods and how to create a ceremonial fire.

10.00am – Intro. to the day. Fire as an element, fire meditation. Fire stories.

11.00 am – tea break

11.30 am – fire preparation, gathering sticks, fire pits, fire starting materials and implements.

12.30 pm – building and nurturing fire. Cooking with fire.

13.00 pm – lunch cooked on the fire.

14.00 pm – Therapeutic fires. working with fire metaphor and healing fire. Different types of ceremonial fire. Harnessing the power of fire.

16.00 pm – closing fire circle. The warmth of the embers. Taking fire with us and sharing fire.

Stefan Batorijs - Founder and Director of Nature & Therapy, Integrative Psychotherapist, BA in Spatial Design, Diploma in Natural Amenity Horticulture. Associate Lecturer Plymouth University.

Stefan grew up in Surrey and developed his love of Nature which led to becoming a Countryside Ranger and Environmentalist. Stefan later trained with John Watkins and Annie Frank in Integrative Psychotherapy based on Gestalt and John Heron’s work but also incorporating Shamanic and dream work models. He has also trained in Brief Solution Therapy, Life Coaching and EFT. Stefan started applying Nature-based methods to work with Individuals and groups in the mid 1990's and this work has continued to grow and expand. It includes lecturing on the benefits of Nature for mental health recovery at Plymouth University D.Clin. Psych. In 2017 Stefan established Nature and Therapy UK - offering 1:1 and group Ecotherapy sessions, and training Shinrin Yoku practitioners from around the world. Stefan believes we all have a primal and spiritual relationship to Nature as our ‘home’.
