2026 marks 70 years of dedicated firefighting service in Kingston’s east end.Originally established as the Pittsburgh Township Fire Department prior to amalgamation with the City of Kingston in 1998, Station 1, located at 1648 Joyceville Road has played a vital role in community safety since opening in March 1956.
To commemorate this milestone, the Kingston East Firefighters Association invites the community to join us on Sunday, February 15, 2026, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The celebration will feature a 3-on-3 hockey game with players from the Queen’s University Men’s Hockey Team at Peirson Community Rink, located beside Station 1.
Complimentary hot dogs, snacks, coffee, and hot chocolate will be provided by the volunteer firefighters of Stations 1 and 2. Immediately following the game, the rink will be open for public skating alongside the Queen’s hockey players.
Mark your calendar, bring your lawn chairs and warm clothing, and enjoy an exciting afternoon watching Queen’s highly skilled athletes showcase their talent. Donations will be gratefully accepted.
