FORGING AHEAD : BLACKSMITH EXPERIENCE is hosting a Fire Poker Forging Day for beginners.This makes a great gift. Vouchers available.
All attendees must be 14+. We are pleased to be offer this course to young people but participants under 18 MUST be accompanied by a responsible adult for the duration of the day. The adult may also purchase their own ticket to take part or attend as a spectator. An adult must also be responsible for overseeing correct and sensible future use of the poker.
You will make a fire poker similar to the one shown in the photo. This practical and decorative poker will showcase all your newly aquired blacksmithing skills in one useful item. You'll be proudly stoking fires with it for a long time.
The day will start at 9:30 at our working forge, on Wayside Farm Estate which is located between Stroud and Cheltenham in Gloucestershire. You will have your own anvil and tools to work with and space at a gas forge.
There is space for a maximum of 6 individual participants on this course.
During the day you will learn the basics of blacksmithing, using tradtional techniques and skills to forge your poker from scratch. An experienced blacksmith instructor will be on hand to demonstrate, help and guide you through the process. At the end of the day you will have your own fire poker to take home.
The day will end at approximately 4pm.
Tea, coffee, biscuits and homemade cake will be provided throughout the day.
£155 per participant.
