Fire Department Open House

The St. Charles Fire Department is hosting its annual Open House community event from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Fire Station No. 1, 112 N. Riverside Ave., St. Charles.
Several exhibits will be available throughout the day, including a technical rescue demonstration (1 p.m.), vehicle extrication (1:30 p.m.) and live firefighting (2 p.m.). Free activities for children and hot dogs, drinks and popcorn also will be available, along with informational displays on programs and general fire safety.
The event is free and open to the public.
