FIRE BUILDING CHALLENGE

Craft natural fire starters and dive into fire building fundamentals — from spark to flame. After learning about tinder, kindling, and fuel wood, we’ll hold a friendly fire-building challenge: who can burn through a suspended string first?

Lead by the friendly folks at Urban Ecology Center, we'll get some info about the cool features of the park. Urban Ecology Center supplies all supplies, including roasting sticks and materials for a s'more at the end of the experience. They have vegan mashmallows, but not diary free chocolate. Feel free to bring your favorite campfire snack or beverage.

WE NEED A MINIMUM OF 10 PAID PARTICIPANTS FOR THIS PROGRAM TO RUN. The cost is $10/person, and must be paid directly to Urban Ecology Center. The pay link is here. You must send evidence of your paid seat to the program organizer, Anja Gruichich, within 24 hours of registration via Eventbrite, or your seat will be released.

LIABILITY WAIVER: Friendly reminder that it is required to sign the e-waiver before attending your

first Women Who Explore event. Please sign on an annual basis. Link here.

** PLEASE NOTE: Ambassadors are not wilderness first aid certified. This is a casual get together for shared outdoor enthusiasts. Safety is a top priority; please plan accordingly.**

EVENT GUIDELINES FOR SICKNESS:

Please be mindful of other members attending the events. If you have developed cold or flu-like symptoms leading up to the event, please cancel your spot in Eventbrite and notify the ambassador hosting the event.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

If you are registering for one of our group events, we ask that you are 100% committed to attending when you register. If you reserve a spot and are unable to attend, please cancel as soon as possible on Eventbrite. We ask that you try to cancel a minimum of 3 days prior to the day of the event as this allows other women who would like to attend the ability to plan to join us.
