This ticket covers attendance at the keynote presentation and a choice of breakout session in the afternoon block.Keynote Presentation: Jon Waterman is an award-winning author and photographer who returns to the Alaskan Arctic 30 years after he last spent time there. Into the Thaw documents this journey with alternate natural history and memoir narratives, sharing the wonder of a place that is rapidly changing and what it looks like to protect what’s left.
Breakout Session A: The ice is melting and our options are to mitigate and adapt. What does it look like to adapt, and to communicate what adaptations will be needed in a changed future? Panelists Karine Gagne, Ignacio Palomo and Kate Hanley bring perspectives from mountain guides, nature-positive adaptation and human connections to ice in the Indian Himalaya. Moderated by Graham McDowell.
Breakout Session B: How do we move forward in the communication of a changing planet and inspire hope and courage so that collectively, we can work towards a better future? Moderated by Graham Zimmerman with panelists Kate Neville, Len Necefer and Amber Bennett.
