Wir freuen uns auf eine Finissage mit einem kleinen Sommerfest zum Abschluss der erfolgreichen Ausstellung. Der bekannte Urban Art Künstler ist anwesend. Einlass 19 Uhr, Künstlergespräch und live Performance ca. 20.30 Uhr, Bar und Raucherbereich im Innenhof.
Francisco de Pájaro, besser bekannt unter seinem Künstlernamen „ART IS TRASH“, ist eine feste Größe in der internationalen Urban-Art-Szene. New York, London, Barcelona - Düsseldorf, diese Reihe erfreut die stolze rheinische Seele.
Seinen Erfolg verdankt ART IS TRASH seinem Doppelleben. Über Tag malt er wunderbare Gemälde, die in namhaften Galerien weltweit verkauft werden, in der Nacht lebt er sich auf den Straßen der Städte aus. So hat der spanische Street-Art-Künstler aus Barcelona sich mit seinen unkonventionellen Werken aus Sperrmüll in der Street Art Szene einen Namen gemacht. Seine Kunst auf der Straße ist improvisiert, roh, witzig und provokativ. Seine Gemälde hingegen sind sensibel, ausgezeichnet komponiert und voller Energie. Gemeinsam haben beide Werkgruppen Comic Elemente und sein „Markenzeichen“ ART IS TRASH.
Was nachts auf den Straßen geschaffen wurde, wird schnell zerstört oder von der Müllabfuhr entsorgt, die über den Kunsthandel verkauften Werke hingegen finden den Weg in namhafte Sammlungen. Provokation und Kampf gegen die Norm schaffen eben auch Publikum, Fans und Social-Media Reichweite. Die oft einschreitende Polizei, erzürnte Hausbesitzer und erfreute Passenten werden zu Statisten der Filmclips des Künstlers. Urban Art Künstler zu sein bedeutet auch Selbstvermarktung, Kamera und Regie der eigenen Fotos und Film-Clips.

Nach seinen Erfolgen in Düsseldorf in den letzen Jahren ist „ART IS TRASH“ zurück in Düsseldorf. Die kommende Ausstellung "Glamour, Trash & Paintings" zeigt viele detailreiche, neue Gemälde auf Leinwand - spielt aber auch mit dem "Punk Dandy" Image des Künstlers. Neben Gemälden werden auch Street Art Fundstücke und sensible Tusche-Zeichnungen gezeigt, so spiegelt die Ausstellung die farbenfrohe Ambivalenz des Künstlers zwischen Kunsthandel und Urban Art wieder.
„I am back in Düsseldorf, my 2nd Home. Here are the rich Men and beautiful Women, a sexy glamorous City”, so der spanische Künstler mit einem Augenzwinkern.

Die Ausstellung findet in den Räumen von Grafik Bild Kunst am Schwanenmarkt 6 statt und bietet am Eröffnungswochenende die spannende Gelegenheit ihn live arbeiten zu sehen und im Rahmen eines Künstlergespräches mehr über seine Kunst und sein Leben (natürlich mit vielen Anekdoten) zu erfahren.

ART IS TRASH war einige Tage in Düsseldorf und hat die kreativen, humorvollen Spuren unter anderem am Rheinufer, vor dem Apollo, am Carlsplatz und anderen Orten zur Freude vieler Passenten und Fans hinterlassen. Schnell ist eine Toilette am Carlsplatz mit einem Mann auf dem Klo verziert, der einen Luftballon mit einem Herz am Handgelenkt hat oder ein Männer-Pärchen schwimmt innig Arm in Arm in einem alten Schlauchboot sitzend in einem Krater mit Wasser an den Rheinwiesen. "It’s springtime - Love is in the air", sagt der Künstler.

„Glamour, Trash & Paintings“ ist dabei mehr als ein Ausstellungstitel. ART IS TRASH bringt in Düsseldorf genau das zusammen, was eigentlich nicht zusammengehört: Glitzer und Sperrmüll. Eleganz und Chaos. Kunst und Anti-Kunst – dabei hält der Ausstellungsstadt der Stadt mit ihrer Königsallee, dem Chic, den Schönheitschirurgen und einer „höheren Pelzdichte als Grönland“ (Anmoderation Markus Lanz „Wetten, dass… ?“, Düsseldorf) auch den Spiegel vor.
Nach einer erfolgreichen Ausstellung feiern wir gemeinsam mit einem kleinen Sommerfest. Der Künstler wird anwesend sein.

Francisco de Pájaro, better known by his artist name “ART IS TRASH”, is a well-established figure in the international Urban Art scene. New York, London, Barcelona – Düsseldorf: this list delights the proud Rhineland soul.

ART IS TRASH owes his success to his double life. By day, he paints wonderful canvases that are sold in renowned galleries worldwide. At night, he unleashes himself on the streets of the cities. This is how the Spanish street artist from Barcelona made a name for himself in the street art scene with his unconventional works made from bulky waste and trash. His street art is improvised, raw, witty, and provocative. His paintings, on the other hand, are sensitive, masterfully composed, and full of energy. Both bodies of work share comic elements and his trademark “ART IS TRASH”.

What is created on the streets at night is quickly destroyed or removed by the waste collection service, whereas the works sold through the art trade find their way into prestigious collections. Provocation and the fight against convention also create an audience, fans, and social media reach. The police who often intervene, angry homeowners, and delighted passers-by all become extras in the artist’s film clips. Being an urban art artist also means self-marketing, camera, and directing your own photos and video clips.

After his successes in Düsseldorf in recent years, “ART IS TRASH” is back in Düsseldorf. The upcoming exhibition “Glamour, Trash & Paintings” features many detailed new paintings on canvas, while also playing with the artist’s “Punk Dandy” image. In addition to the paintings, street art finds and delicate ink drawings will also be shown. In this way, the exhibition reflects the colourful ambivalence of the artist between the art market and urban art.

The exhibition takes place in the spaces of Grafik Bild Kunst at Schwanenmarkt 6 and offers the exciting opportunity on the opening weekend to see him working live and to learn more about his art and his life (naturally with plenty of anecdotes) during an artist talk.

ART IS TRASH spent a few days in Düsseldorf and left creative, humorous traces – among other places – along the Rhine promenade, in front of the Apollo, at Carlsplatz, and at other locations, much to the delight of many passers-by and fans. A toilet at Carlsplatz was quickly decorated with a man on the loo holding a balloon with a heart tied to his wrist, or a male couple floats lovingly arm in arm in an old rubber dinghy in a water-filled crater by the Rhine meadows. “It’s springtime – Love is in the air,” says the artist.

“Glamour, Trash & Paintings” is more than just an exhibition title. In Düsseldorf, ART IS TRASH brings together exactly what actually doesn’t belong together: glitter and bulky waste. Elegance and chaos. Art and anti-art – while at the same time holding up a mirror to the host city with its Königsallee, its chic, its cosmetic surgeons, and a “higher fur density than Greenland” (as Markus Lanz once introduced Düsseldorf on “Wetten, dass…?”).

We are delighted that “Art is Trash” is once again inspiring Düsseldorf. After a great Exhibtion time we celebrate the Finissage with a Summer Party.
