Mark Your Calendars for Our Second Annual Fine Arts Weekend - October 18, 19 and 20This is shaping up to be a great weekend that will incorporate a multi-disciplinary fine art experience over Friday, Saturday and Sunday. And, most importantly, it is a benefit for Boise Hive, a non-profit organization that supports mental well-being for all ages but is focused on the musical community.
The Pastel Society of the West Coast is providing a feast for our eyes - their art will be on display beginning October 18th with an Artist Reception on Friday evening prior to the first music performance. One of our congregants, Laura Wolstenholm, will be displaying her art as well.
We have a banquet of musical events. Come to one or come to all of them.
Friday evening at 7pm the Boise High Orchestra will perform under the direction of Laurel Talley. Following that performance at 7:30pm The Sawtooth Quartet, will perform. This quartet features Bryan Hall, violin; Laurel Talley, violin; Jennifer Drake, viola; Brian Hodges, cello.
On Saturday afternoon at 4pm Future Star of Steinway, Nathan Antimie, will play "Dante" Sonata and Mephisto Waltz on FPC's Steinway. Following Nathan's performance, Charlotte Wong, another Future Star of Steinway, will play Shostakovich, Prelude & Fugue; Beethoven's "Tempest"; and Granados, "Los Requiebros".
Sunday, October 20th, 2:00pm brings jazz to the sanctuary, The Valley Jazz Syndicate, featuring Jack Gardner, bass; Steven Jones, trombone; Sam De Luna, piano; Ian Niblett, drums. And capping off the weekend is Thirdspace Quartet at 3:00pm, featuring Nicole Oswald, violin; Rosie Weiss, violin; Aubrey Holmes, viola; Jake Saunders, cello.
Please plan on attending, support the Boise Hive and enjoy this feast for your eyes and ears.
